Psychomotor therapy for children in Lebanon

Weekly, play-based sessions for children and teens who find movement, coordination, handwriting, focus or big emotions hard, with a clear plan for home. In Jamhour and Achrafieh, in Arabic, French or English.

How we start

  1. A free 15-minute call

You tell me what you have noticed, and I tell you honestly whether psychomotor therapy is the right place to start.

  2. The assessment

A play-based assessment with a written report (bilan psychomoteur).

  3. A plan with clear goals

We agree on a few goals that matter for your child at home and at school.

  4. Weekly sessions

Sessions through play, simple activities for home, and regular reviews of progress together.

What psychomotor therapy works on

Psychomotor therapy looks at how movement, emotions and thinking affect each other, and uses movement and play to build skills.

  • Balance, coordination and confidence in the body
  • Hand skills, pre-writing and handwriting
  • Attention, planning and finishing a task
  • Calming down and handling big emotions
  • Body awareness, posture and finding their way in space
  • Everyday independence: dressing, cutting, eating

What a session looks like

Sessions look like play: obstacle courses, ball games, drawing, building, relaxation. Each activity has a goal we chose together after the assessment.

Parents are part of it: at the end of a session I show you one or two simple things to do at home during the week.

Who it is for

Children from early childhood to the teenage years, with or without a diagnosis. Some children I see have autism, ADHD, coordination difficulties (dyspraxia) or a developmental delay, and many have no diagnosis at all.

I work alongside speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and doctors.

Goal-based coordination programme (CO-OP)

For children who want to master a specific everyday skill, like riding a bike, tying laces or writing more neatly, I offer CO-OP: the child chooses the goals and learns how to reach them. I am a certified CO-OP therapist, and international guidelines recommend task-oriented approaches like this one for coordination difficulties.

Questions about therapy for children

How long does therapy take?

It depends on the child and the goals. We review progress together regularly and adjust the plan.

Do you diagnose autism, ADHD or dyspraxia?

No. A diagnosis is made by a doctor. I describe your child's strengths and difficulties, and I can refer you when a diagnosis is needed.

Can sessions be online?

Therapy for children takes place in clinic. Parent coaching can be online.

Do you work with the school?

Yes, with your agreement: I can share practical ideas with the teacher or the school's support team.

Wondering where to start?

Send me a message on WhatsApp. A free 15-minute call is the easiest first step, or I can send you my free guide first.
